Beach Party July 16th 2022

What a nice event with a rather light turn out but with the addition of new members, it was a very rewarding outing for us old timers. Special thanks goes out to Lonnie Lane and Ivy, Johanna, Rick Keffer and yours truly Ken. New members added were Katie Semone, Lori and David Kennel and Patty Frisch. Also there was David Allen and David Huntly who are mast up tenants. We were able to sail the sunfish most of the day and socialize as like minded sailors do with the exception of drinking beer and swearing.

The next event is something new I'm proposing for Saturday August 13, 2022 from 10:00am until dark. We will obtain a special use permit for this event as it involves “boating on the water.” The event is called fun racing and raft up. I'm proposing we change the order by having a raft up from 10am until 1pm then fun races until about 4pm depending on wind conditions. We can raft up by anchoring off of the stern then tie up with other boats on the bow in the same area of the lake we used for beach parties. This area is located just south of Marina Del Sur. The fun race can involve a distance race to Pirate's Cove or Dam Site Marina where we can come back to Marina del Sur or take a slip at Dam Site for a night on your boat and the club would chip in to pay your slip for the night. This will take a little planning and hopefully you can RSVP to Johanna or me as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you on the water. Ken and Johanna, 505 328 4826 or 4825.
